History of the M.M.M
History: Rev. Luis M. Ortiz. Founder of the World Missionary Movement Church. Its beginnings The World Missionary Movement Church was founded in 1963 by Brother Luis M. Ortiz Marrero in Puerto Rico; on February 13 of that same year, the work was registered with the authorities of the State of that country.
According to the testimony of Brother Ortiz himself, the name was revealed to him by the Holy Spirit, as was the promise of blessing to carry his work throughout the world.
Luis M. Ortiz was born on 26 September 1918 in Corozal, Puerto Rico, the eighth child of Miguel Ortiz and Aurelia Marrero; at the age of 10 years, he received Christ in his home in Corozal, Puerto Rico.
He is then called by God to undertake a work of global scope, being confirmed in a Disciples of Christ Church service.
In the words of a missionary sister present there.
After finishing his academic studies, he went to work for the newspaper ‘El Mundo’, a job he later resigned to obey the call of God that burned in his heart.
Lord, first in the Dominican Republic and later for Cuba, where he worked tirelessly for 16 years, serving faithfully in the Council of the Assemblies.
de Dios.

His work in Cuba produced great fruit for God, for in a year and a half of diligent work, 23 churches had been established and more than 30 workers had been trained,
radio programmes, evangelistic campaigns, a Bible institute and an informative magazine, having at the end of the 16 years a total of 60 churches and a good group of
workers ‘...prepared for every good work....
All these results reveal the enormous vision of this man of God and his support for the call of his servant. Confident of that call to worldwide missionary work, the
Brother Ortiz presented his projects to the Council in the hope of receiving support and thus getting down to work; but the Council, after much deliberation, resolved NOT to
SUPPORT that world mission because it did not fit into the plans of that council.
Dios
It is not easy to think of achieving a goal of such magnitude without the necessary resources, but if the work was God's, then why worry?
Ortiz some time ago, and the brother rejoiced about it. That same year the statutes of the church were drawn up and published and by which we are governed until the present day.
The last edition of these statutes was published in 1993. The year 1963 saw the birth of a new work whose beginning was in the heart of God and was registered
before the respective authorities under the official name of ‘MOVIMIENTO MISIONERO MUNDIAL MUNDIAL’ (WORLD MISSIONARY MOVEMENT).
MMM
